TASTE REAL FOOD UK is a new, not-for-profit voluntary association which covers the whole of the UK and which is owned and run by its members - who care about and wish to enjoy, explore and promote the Taste of Real Food.
Across the country, local Taste Real Food groups are starting to provide a fascinating mixture of local events and activities for people who care about, and wish to enjoy, explore and promote the Taste of Real Food. We bring together consumers, producers and suppliers who care about our food heritage, and who want to enjoy it and inform others about it.
Nationally, Taste Real Food UK provides practical means of helping and supporting the local Groups, and seeks to encourage others, whether "ordinary people", politicians, producers or suppliers, to join with us in our aim to make good, real food available to all.
Since our launch in 2009, we've been encouraged by the reception we've had when we have been telling people about Taste Real Food. Many individuals have been quick to grasp the idea of a "bottom-up" organisation where the important activities really do belong to the local groups working within their local communities; but we have also been heartened to find firm and enthusiastic support from a variety of places, whether it's catering and events students, local authorities, schools, universities, restaurateurs and food producers.
